Now that a decision has been made to outsource, there are a few steps before the work commences. First, it is recommended that at least 3 different vendors are solicited with a request for proposal (RFP). This RFP should include the scope of the project and a proposed time, along with other important sections. The statement of work (SOW) will thoroughly outline all of the work you are requesting of the selected RFP. You will be researching templates for both the RFP and the SOW that work best for your selected project.

Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 350–600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.

Research at least 2 sources (which may include your textbook) to support your response.

• Using your textbook and A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK^® Guide), Sixth Edition as references, describe the steps involved in procurement management.
• Compare and contrast the roles of a project manager and a contract manager, focusing on the procurement process and the goals of project management to manage the triple constraint.
• Why is using standard templates for the SOW, RFP, and procurement contract award so important?

Be sure to include an introduction and conclusion as well. Include references in APA format.
