Last week we examined the use of rapport. Rapport is important in elicitation, in interviews/debriefs, and when terminating a contact. Explain the importance of maintaining rapport throughout an interaction, what happens if rapport is lost, and ways to maintain rapport while terminating.
Use examples, demonstrate you have read the materials, and apply critical thinking skills to earn maximum points on this discussion.
After viewing the Rapport and Elicitation PowerPoint presentations, complete the following task and post about your experience.
Elicit a personal piece of information from a family member, friend, or co-worker. This can be something as simple as what size of clothing a person wears, educational level, or salary. Some ideas could include “secret music listening behavior” (i.e. the person that normally listens to Metallica, but secretly likes the music of Lady Gaga); something they did as a child/young adult that their parents never knew about; or, an embarrassing moment. Remember to use the skill sets outlined in “Confidential” and the PowerPoint presentations. This is NOT an interview and the student should not use questioning techniques during this exercise. Have fun and use the techniques presented.
Following the completion of this exercise, post about your experience. Describe your subject, how you approached them, the conversation, the elicitation techniques used, the information you collected, and how you terminated the conversation.
In addition, tell the class how you felt about the exercise: were you uncomfortable, was it difficult for you, what would you do differently next time, etc
This discussion looks at the two predictive analytic techniques – Delphi method and Red Teaming. From this discussion, you will better understand the benefits and limitations of each method.
Respond to the following question:
Select a current intelligence issue. Explain which predictive method (Delphi or Red Teaming) would be more effective (powerful) at forecasting the outcome of the situation. Be sure to discuss both methods in your answer.
Put each title number in different word documents and title them as they are.
